Theory about comets doesn’t hold water October 5, 2011

The quest to explain our planet and the universe – without God as the creator – is intensifying. Our news sources nearly everyday are trumpeting another discovery and another theory that they say proves the big bang and evolution. This newest story found here and here is going to an unusual source; unusual in the sense of not being on the forefront of the creation-rejection movement. That source is comets.

This is the headline:

Comet’s water ‘like that of Earth’s oceans’

Scientist are scouring the heavens for sources of water. They are looking everywhere. They’re looking for it on Mars, they looked for it on the Moon, and now they are looking for it on comets.

Comet Hartley 2 contains water more like that found on Earth than prior comets seem to have, researchers say.

Why is this significant? To evolunatics this is monumental, because up till now all the comets that were even close enough to observe contained water that was not like our water here on earth. But now comet Hartley 2 is observed to have water that is close to earth’s ocean water. This has them all a-quiver. Why?

Because now they can say that the earth’s water was carried here via comets. They think they have found the source for our water.

What they are looking for is deuterium, an isotope of hydrogen. All the previous comets that had water were found to contain amounts of deuterium that were far greater than what is contained in our own oceans. It is essentially Heavy Water and in that form it is not healthy to life here on earth. Fortunately there is very little deuterium around to cause us any harm. Nothing in the studies even tries to determine how Heavy Water brought here by comets became the “light” water that is critical for life here on earth, only that its presence on this comet must be the answer as to how water got here on earth. Without any evidence they are completely comfortable telling us what the earth was like when this occurred.

Just a few million years after its formation, the early Earth was rocky and dry; something must have brought the water that covers most of the planet today.

And there you have it. Since they know implicitly that the early earth was dry and there was no water, naturally they want to know how it got here.

If at this point your baloney detector is vibrating then you can breathe a sigh of relief; because this whole theory is baloney.

There are so many obstacles they must overcome to make this theory even plausible that only those with no desire to look into it will buy it at face value. The first question that comes to mind is why did the earth get all this water and none of the other planets in our system? The second is that the ratio of good-water-bearing-comets to bad-water-bearing-comets is way out of whack to account for what amounts to 1,386 million cubic kilometers of water. Here is a good site for this info.

The real reason there is water on our planet is because it was created.

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1: 1-10

There is not only an accurate explanation for our water, there is also an accurate explanation for comets and planets and the universe:“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1

Any attempt to explain our universe that does not acknowledge God our Creator is foolish. It is foolish to the point of being ridiculous and stupid. It is a foolishness that grasps at any explanation no matter how absurd simply because they REFUSE to accept God. God is erased from the equation at the very beginning of these scientific studies and subsequently they are left with nothing but gibberish because there is nothing logical to use.

Einstein, for all his genius, was wrong; insanity isn’t doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, that’s just stupid – insanity is trying to explain the universe without God.

Great timing! I’m leading a Bible study this morning and part of it will include Creation. I don’t understand why people will grasp at anything to avoid the obvious.

It is truly puzzling. Have fun at your Bible study!
